The funding sources available to Emergency Services Districts (ESDS) in Texas provide them with various options for generating revenue. ESDS can levy ad valorem taxes up to $0.10 per $100 of property valuation, as outlined in the Texas Constitution.
Additionally, with voter approval, ESDS may collect sales tax up to a maximum of 2%, depending on availability. These various funding sources allow ESDS to provide critical services to their communities and maintain a steady revenue stream to support their operations.
The mission of Kaufman County Emergency Services District #2 is to be the leading emergency service district by meeting the needs of our community in fire prevention, fire suppression, rescue operations, emergency medical responses and most effective use of community tax dollars to meet these needs.
